From Our Extended Family To Yours.

We are family owned and operated and have been since the beginning. The Salimetrics’ family includes caring people with different backgrounds, from PhDs and Biotech experts to MBAs and CPAs, from academics and industry, who individually and collectively work to make us a better partner for healthy living.

Our shared expertise and dedication to promoting healthy lifestyles have united our team in a powerful way. Together, we are creating a system that empowers individuals with deep physiological insights into long-term health trends, helping them understand how their bodies respond to aging, diet, and life changes. Douglas A. Granger, Ph.D.

Founder and Chief Scientific and Strategy Advisor

Dr. Granger is a renowned interdisciplinary scholar, entrepreneur, and pioneer in the field of salivary bioscience. He completed his doctoral training in behavioral science and postdoctoral training in psychoneuroimmunology at the University of California. Dr. Granger held distinguished faculty positions and created and directed labs, centers, and institutes at Penn State, Johns Hopkins, Arizona State, and UC Irvine. He has extensive experience in both basic, clinical, and applied research settings. Since 1992, his research programs have been continuously funded by the National Institute of Health, and the results have significantly advanced our understanding of the internal and external validity of saliva as a minimally invasive biospecimen. Dr. Granger and his collaborators, who hail from every continent and number in the hundreds, have been at the forefront of integrating biological data with psychological research to explore the complex interplay between behavior, stress, development, and health. In 1998, Dr. Granger founded Salimetrics LLC, a company that quickly became a global leader in salivary bioscience. Under his leadership, Salimetrics has developed and refined highly sensitive and specific assays for a wide range of salivary biomarkers, including hormones, antibodies, cytokines, and other molecules relevant to stress, development, immunity, and metabolism. To date, the company’s products and services have been applied in more than 10,500 studies. Dr. Granger’s scientific contributions (more than 425 publications) have been widely recognized, earning him the reputation as one of a handful of thought leaders (H-index = 91, I-10 index = 300). His work continues to support and facilitate a wide range of domestic and international research activity across various fields of study including, for example, pediatrics, gerontology, psychiatry, medicine, sports science, psychology, epidemiology, veterinary sciences, and public health.

Steve Granger, Ph.D.

Chief Scientific Officer, Salimetrics

Dr. Granger is a highly experienced molecular immunologist with a strong track record in pre-clinical drug development and over a decade of expertise in salivary diagnostics. As the Chief Scientific Officer, Dr. Granger leads the research and development efforts to advance saliva and dried blood spot (DBS) testing. Under his leadership, Salimetrics has expanded its capabilities from biobehavioral research to include markers of infectious disease, inflammation, cardiometabolic health and circadian physiology. Dr. Granger’s more recent contributions include at-home collected methods for circadian melatonin profiling, Dim Light Melatonin Onset (DLMO), that can be combined with cortisol testing to help improve sleep and stress management. He has also contributed to the launch of direct-to-consumer health tests like a dried blood spot CRP testing, dried salivary insulin and introduced specialized melatonin tests for parents and children. With a keen interest in innovation, his work is pivotal in aligning the right sampling methods with the specific needs of various research questions, participant demographics, and budget constraints.

Ben Wiegand, Ph.D.

Advisor, Salimetrics

Ben has spent the last 30 + years, working to shift the paradigm in healthcare from diagnosing and treating disease to identifying early risk for disease and intercepting disease processes before they progress to illness. These efforts require the integration of many stakeholders, spanning scientific, clinical, regulatory, and commercial – creating a situation where the patient, provider and payer can all win.  He has spent time at Johnson & Johnson, United Health Group and Procter & Gamble and advises a number of companies that believe in this new paradigm.
